The municipality of Yaiza, in southern Lanzarote, will host the 17th edition of the San Isidro Labrador Insular Livestock Fair from Thursday, April 23, to Sunday, April 26, a consolidated event for the primary sector.

The Uga fairgrounds will become a meeting point for residents and visitors for four days. They will be able to enjoy a varied program of cultural, educational, and leisure activities, in addition to an exhibition of Lanzarote's finest livestock.

"The fair highlights the vitality of the primary sector and the unwavering commitment of the island's livestock farmers."

The fair also pays tribute to the generations of men and women who have worked tirelessly to ensure the well-being and quality of life on the island. A spokesperson for the Yaiza City Council emphasized that Uga transforms into a space for camaraderie and a tribute to those who, through their efforts, have contributed to the current development.
The event's program is diverse and designed for all ages. It includes guided tours, a traditional milking demonstration, threshing exhibitions with animals, and livestock competitions. Additionally, cheese tasting workshops will be offered for both adults and children, along with courses on home composting.
A talk on the Canarian camel will take place on Thursday, April 23, discussing its identity and cultural value in Lanzarote. The event will also feature a children's entertainment area, and the Casa del Camello, located opposite the fairgrounds, will host educational activities. Gastronomic and artisanal offerings will be available to all attendees.
