During the May Bank Holiday, the Canary Islands will experience predominantly cloudy intervals, with a low probability of light and scattered rain in certain areas. However, the general trend points towards an improvement in weather conditions from Sunday, May 3rd, although clouds will persist in the northern parts of the higher islands.
For Thursday, no significant weather phenomena are expected. In the eastern province and Tenerife, skies will show cloudy intervals increasing to cloudy in inland areas during the afternoon, with a slight chance of light precipitation, mainly in inland areas and eastern slopes. The rest of the islands will have partly cloudy skies, with evolving intervals in inland areas during central hours. Minimum temperatures will remain stable, while maximums will see a slight rise, more noticeable in the mid-altitudes of the western province's north. Wind will generally be light, predominantly from the northeast in the early and late hours, and with a sea breeze regime during central hours.
On Friday, no relevant phenomena are anticipated. There will be intervals of high clouds, with some low clouds on coastal areas at dawn, as well as evolving intervals in inland areas of the mountainous islands during central hours, where some light and isolated precipitation is not ruled out. Skies will tend to be partly cloudy or clear by late evening. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged, or with a slight increase in maximums in the eastern province. Wind will be light from the northeast, except in La Palma and El Hierro, where a sea breeze regime will prevail.
On Saturday, the mountainous islands will have predominantly cloudy skies on the northern slopes and partly cloudy skies in other areas, except for evolving intervals in southern inland areas during central hours, with a low probability of light, scattered, and occasional rain. Cloudy intervals are expected in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged. Wind will be light to moderate from the northeast.
Finally, on Sunday, cloudy intervals are forecast for Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. In the north of the mountainous islands, skies will be cloudy with clear spells opening up during central hours. The rest of the areas will enjoy partly cloudy or clear skies, except for some evolving intervals in southern inland areas. Temperatures will remain stable or with a slight increase. Wind will be light to moderate from the northeast, with light intervals in the western province during central hours.
