The Queen of Queens gala, one of the most anticipated events of Gáldar Pride 2026, concluded with the crowning of Drag Ácrux as the winner. The event, held at the Recinto Cultural La Quinta, drew a large audience and featured a night filled with humor, music, and transgression. Drag Ignea took the title of first runner-up, followed by Drag Shiky as second.
Drag Ácrux secured the highest score with their performance titled «El que no arriesga no gana… ¿Y tú, apuestas por mí?» (He who risks nothing gains nothing… Do you bet on me?). Their act, inspired by Elvis Presley on platforms and featuring a suggestive aesthetic related to gambling and Las Vegas, captivated both the jury and the audience. An aerial flip executed at the edge of the stage added an element of pure spectacle to their presentation.
The gala, hosted by Inés Hernand and Samantha Ballentines, opened with a musical performance by Ronia Alvarado, High Hells Performance, and Rouge Studio. The acts by the participating drag artists, including Drag Eiko, Drag Yshia Taisma, Drag Hefesto, Drag Ignea, and Drag Shiky, were noted for their creative concepts, elaborate costumes, and impressive stage productions.
The Lip Sync battle featured the three finalists: Ácrux, Ignea, and Shiky. They improvised to the song «Super estrella» by Aitana, with a voting system that combined the jury's decision and the input from five randomly selected audience members.
The crowning of the winning drag queen and her court was performed by the mayor of Gáldar, Teodoro Sosa, and the first deputy mayor and councilor for Culture and Festivals, Julio Mateo Castillo, alongside other members of the municipal corporation.
The evening also featured a performance by rapper Ptazeta, who delivered hits such as «Trakatá» and «Mami». Other performers included Drag La Tacones, Drag Queen of the Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 2026, LaCa Udilla, Grimassira Maeva, and Drag Sequins, the winner of the previous year's competition.
The Pride celebration also included the premiere of «Furor, furor», a show presented by Alonso Caparrós, and the Glitter Party. Music by DJ Vilu Gontero concluded the night's events.
The Gáldar City Council has reinforced its commitment to safety and inclusivity by establishing Violet Points (Puntos Violeta) at the Recinto Cultural La Quinta. These points will offer prevention, attention, and information regarding potential situations of sexist violence or discrimination, operating from 8:00 PM to 3:00 AM during the main days of the event. This initiative, coordinated by the Department for Equality, is part of the actions promoted under the State Pact against Gender Violence.
