The Gáldar City Council has approved the project to improve the wastewater network in Caleta de Arriba, an initiative long demanded by residents.

The Gáldar City Council, through its Urban Planning Department, has greenlit the project to enhance the wastewater network in Caleta de Arriba. This intervention, requested by the residents of this coastal area, aims to provide a definitive solution to a long-standing neighborhood need, improving the collection and evacuation of wastewater and reinforcing essential infrastructure for citizens' quality of life.
The plan involves the renovation of several sections of the sanitation network, the construction of new manholes, and the installation of a pumping station. This new infrastructure will enable the conveyance of wastewater to the recently expanded Bocabarranco treatment plant, thereby integrating Caleta de Arriba into a more efficient sanitation network.
This action represents a significant step forward in resolving the problems that have affected the area's sanitation system for years. Furthermore, the infrastructure will be adapted to meet the current and future needs of the population center. The project also includes the restoration of pavements affected by the works, ensuring the recovery of public spaces once the intervention is complete.
Concurrently, pipeline works are already underway between Caleta de Arriba and El Agujero, as part of the rehabilitation project for the Camino de El Frontón. This initiative will connect the neighborhood's wastewater to the Bocabarranco treatment plant. The new pumping station and the sanitation network renovation will thus complete a comprehensive solution for a historic demand from the local residents.
