The Local Police of Gáldar has announced a series of circulation modifications that will affect various streets in the municipality during the celebration of the main events of the Santiago Major Festivals. Maximum citizen cooperation is requested, along with respect for signage, and apologies are offered for any inconvenience caused.
On Wednesday, July 22, for the 'Caballitos de fuego' (Fire Horses) event, Bajada de las Guayarminas will be closed to traffic from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Access to the urban center is recommended via Maninidra street, Delgado street, or the ascent to La Montaña via Domingo Pérez street. Parking will be prohibited on San Amaro and Franciscanos streets. The parking area at the La Quinta Cultural Venue will remain open on this day but closed from July 23 to 28.
On Thursday, July 23, the float parade will cause the closure of Capitán Quesada, Infanta Benchara, Drago, Martinón León, and Aljirofe streets from 8:00 PM to midnight. Parking will be prohibited on Infanta Benchara, Drago, and Martinón León from 3:00 PM onwards. The taxi rank will be moved to Bajada de Las Guayarminas.
The Rama de Santiago (Santiago's Branch), on Friday, July 24, will begin at 5:00 PM in the La Montaña neighborhood. Traffic will be cut off as the procession moves through the city center. It will affect Domingo Pérez street and the ascent to La Montaña for approximately 30 minutes. Access to the neighborhood will be diverted via Paseo de los Guanartemes, calle Delgado, and the new road next to the Urban Park towards La Montaña. Parking will be prohibited on Domingo Pérez, calle Calvario, and Drago from 2:00 PM onwards.
On the same Friday, July 24, events at the La Quinta Cultural Venue will involve the closure of Maninidra, Guillén Morales, and Guaires streets from 5:00 PM. Bentejui street will be temporarily enabled for two-way traffic to facilitate access to other streets. At 10:00 PM, Jordán street will be closed from both access points due to the drone show.
On Saturday, July 25, the Battle of Flowers will lead to the closure of Capitán Quesada, Infanta Benchara, Martinón León, and Aljirofe streets from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Parking will be prohibited on Infanta Benchara, Drago, and Martinón León from 3:00 PM onwards. The taxi rank will be moved to Bajada de Las Guayarminas.
Also on Saturday, July 25, events at the La Quinta Cultural Venue will close Maninidra, Guillén Morales, and Guaires streets starting at 6:00 PM. Bentejui street will be enabled for two-way traffic.
Finally, on Sunday, July 26, events at the La Quinta Cultural Venue will close Maninidra, Guillén Morales, and Guaires streets starting at 4:00 PM. Bentejui street will be enabled for two-way traffic.
