The total investment for this project amounts to 3,619,715.99 euros, including taxes. Interested companies have until September 28, 2026, to submit their proposals through an open procedure published on the Public Sector Contracting Platform. The contract, which does not include extensions or European funding, has an execution period of six months.
The planned works include the installation of fire prevention devices, alarm systems, as well as the necessary safety lighting and signage for the sports venue. The estimated contract value, excluding taxes, is 3,382,912.14 euros.
Although no recent fires have occurred within the stadium, the venue has experienced incidents highlighting the need to enhance its safety. A significant fire occurred in 1945 at the former social headquarters of CD Tenerife, but it did not affect the playing field. More recently, in July 2023, falling debris from the facade necessitated emergency works costing 334,823.61 euros.
These modernization works for the fire protection system are part of a broader stadium rehabilitation plan, which has included the renovation of seats, plumbing, restrooms, and improvements to the safety of stands and evacuation stairs. The current tender is for a preventive and regulatory update.
