The Gáldar City Council has relaunched the tender process for its street cleaning service, setting a budget of 5.41 million euros for the next five years.

Following the failure of the initial tender, which saw no companies submit bids, the council has updated the financial conditions. The new budget represents an increase of over one million euros compared to the first tender, although the contract duration remains fixed at five years. Compared to the contract awarded in 2021, the budgetary allocation for municipal cleaning has risen by 2.77 million euros.
The municipal objective is to delegate to an external company the responsibility for cleaning urban centers and neighborhoods, as well as the maintenance of beaches and natural pools. The contract also includes the upkeep of municipal parking areas and enhanced cleaning in high-traffic zones, special events, and periods of high visitor influx.
Gáldar's coastline will receive priority attention. Sardina beach, Bocabarranco, and the natural pools of El Agujero will require daily sanitation. Meanwhile, La Punta de Gáldar, Caleta de Abajo, La Furnia, Los Dos Roques, El Frontón, and Caleta de Arriba will be cleaned three times a week.
The awarded company will receive an annual sum ranging from 1 to 1.1 million euros for the services rendered, fully funded by the council's own resources. The technical specifications require companies to possess specific machinery, including sweepers, washers, and high-pressure cleaners, along with auxiliary vehicles to cover an approximate municipal area of 90 kilometers.
Interested companies have until September 14th at 11:59 PM to submit their proposals for this contract.
