The Ministry of Public Works, Housing, and Mobility of the Government of the Canary Islands has approved the administrative contracting file for the execution of 45 protected public promotion homes and 45 garage spaces in Santa María de Guía, Gran Canaria. The development will take place on plot 7 of Polygon 2 of Pineda, located on Sancho de Vargas street.
This initiative has an estimated value of 9,818,544.34 euros and is part of a global project that includes the construction of 126 protected public promotion properties in various locations across Gran Canaria. The contracting process will be handled under an urgent procedure.
The development is framed within Program 6, which supports the construction of social rental housing in energy-efficient buildings under the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan. This program, financed by the European Union through Next Generation EU funds, aims to foster and increase the public stock of energy-efficient homes for social or affordable rent.
The estimated value for the entire set of contracts for the 126 homes in Gran Canaria amounts to 26,258,717.45 euros (excluding IGIC). Funding is provided by the Canarian Housing Institute, the Gran Canaria Housing Consortium, and PRTR funds from the Spanish Government.
In addition to the 45 homes in Santa María de Guía, the overall project includes two other developments of 26 homes each in Gáldar, and the construction of 21 homes in Casa Pastores and eight on Severo Ochoa street, both in Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
