The opening of this new citizen security point addresses a long-standing demand and was made possible by the transfer of a premises by the Transport Department of the Fuerteventura Island Council. The office is located at the preferred bus stop Pedro Hernández Morales.
This new service will enable greater decentralization of security, which was previously centralized in Corralejo, facilitating police work in El Cotillo and nearby villages such as El Roque, Lajares, and the town center of La Oliva. The office will be equipped with a direct communication system to the central station for rapid emergency response.
The launch of this office is part of the improvements promoted by the La Oliva City Council in the Citizen Security department since the beginning of the legislative term. These initiatives include a significant increase in the Local Police staff, which has grown from 28 to 48 officers in the municipality.
