Emergency services, including Firefighters and the Local Police of Puerto del Rosario, responded this morning to a fire reported in a residential property. The incident occurred on Avenida Marítima in the capital of Fuerteventura, specifically between Juan Domínguez Peña and Ruperto González streets.
Although the Puerto del Rosario City Council has not yet provided further details on the incident, it has been confirmed that the fire originated on the floor immediately above a well-known cafeteria in the area.
“"This is not the first time an altercation has occurred in that particular dwelling."
Local residents and business owners have stated that this is not the first incident recorded at the property. According to their accounts, the dwelling is occupied by two individuals who have previously caused problems related to disputes, shouting, and a continuous flow of non-residents.
“"The fire could be intentional, it was bound to happen."
At the time of publication, no personal injuries have been reported. However, Cafetería Terra, located directly beneath the affected building, had to close its doors as a precautionary measure due to the fire and the significant volume of water that entered the premises during the extinguishing efforts.
