The Vallehermoso City Council and the Cabildo de La Gomera have launched an emergency plan, valued at over 9.5 million euros, to restore infrastructure and access points damaged by Storm Therese in the municipality.

The actions, carried out in cooperation between both administrations, aim to restore essential roads, access points, infrastructure, and services that were affected in various areas of Vallehermoso.
Among the works already declared as emergencies are the restoration of access to the areas of Erque and Erquito, as well as interventions on tracks and access roads to neighborhoods, agricultural zones, and potable water deposits. Additionally, emergency measures for the access safety at Lomito de Macayo have been declared, with execution set to begin soon to improve stability and ensure safety in this section.

"Work continues in a coordinated manner between administrations to address the incidents caused by the storm and advance in the recovery of essential infrastructure for the residents of the municipality."

The municipal official added that many of these actions are a priority due to their direct impact on access, water supply, and communications for several populated areas, underscoring the importance of a rapid and planned response.
The interventions also cover the replacement of potable water supply infrastructure and the improvement of damaged deposits. Furthermore, the Cabildo Insular is currently carrying out emergency works on the stretch between Vegueta and Playa de Vallehermoso to reinforce road safety and stability.
Future measures are also planned for Morera and the Arguamul Guillama section, for which projects have already been drafted. The stabilization of the slope and improvement of safety in the park area at the entrance to Vallehermoso town center are also contemplated, an intervention that already has budgetary allocation.
The set of programmed and ongoing works represents a total investment exceeding 9.5 million euros for the municipality, within the framework of institutional cooperation and the measures submitted to the central Government for the financing of damages caused by Storm Therese.
