The Enriqueta and Girasol pensions, in La Graciosa, have been honored with the 2026 Tourism Distinguished Award, presented by SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote, recognizing their pioneering role in the accommodation offerings of Caleta de Sebo.

The Teguise City Council has congratulated the Enriqueta and Girasol pensions, located in La Graciosa, after they were awarded the 2026 Tourism Distinguished Award. This accolade, granted by the Lanzarote External Promotion Society (SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote) in the Business category, highlights the trajectory of both establishments.
The award ceremony will take place on September 28 in Puerto del Carmen, coinciding with World Tourism Day. The award recognizes the pioneering work of these pensions in the establishment and development of accommodation infrastructure in Caleta de Sebo, contributing to the island's tourism growth since their inception.
The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, extended her congratulations to the families and individuals who have led these accommodations for decades. She emphasized that the recognition "highlights the effort, perseverance, and hospitality of those who were able to open the doors of La Graciosa to the first visitors and lay the foundations for a personal, authentic tourism model deeply linked to the island's identity."
For her part, the Councilor for Tourism, Rita Hernández, stressed that the Enriqueta and Girasol pensions "are part of the tourist history of La Graciosa and represent the welcoming character that has always defined its residents." She added that the award "recognizes an exemplary career and the contribution of generations of families who have made personal treatment and human quality their best presentation card."
The Teguise City Council also extended its congratulations to all the recipients in this edition of the Lanzarote Island Awards and Tourism Distinguished 2026, acknowledging the contributions of those who, from various fields, contribute to the development and projection of tourism in Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
