The municipality of Haría has had a permanent firefighter service operating 24 hours a day since July 1st to address the emergency needs of the northern region.

The deployment of this unit is the result of an agreement between the Haría City Council and the Island Emergency Consortium. The operation is distributed across two bases located in Arrieta and the town center of Haría, equipped with specialized vehicles for both land and maritime interventions.
The decision to establish this resource responds to the municipality's geographical characteristics, including its large land area, significant tourist activity at its centers, and extensive coastline. The distance from the nearest fire stations was a key factor in prioritizing this resource for the north.
Local authorities have highlighted that this measure addresses a long-standing request aimed at increasing protection for both residents and visitors. The presence of these personnel will reduce response times for any incident, improving operational efficiency in the north of the island.
