The fifth edition of the agricultural, maritime, and fishing fair in Teguise opened this Thursday at the Agrotechnological Center, offering free activities until Sunday.

The town of Teguise is hosting the fifth edition of its agricultural, maritime, and fishing fair from this Thursday, which will run until next Sunday at the Agrotechnological Center. The initiative, supported by municipal sponsorship and the Cabildo, features an extensive program of activities, exhibitions, workshops, tastings, and professional meetings with free admission.
This event in Teguise coincides with the gastronomic fair in Tías, which will start on Friday and continue on Saturday in the plot adjacent to the football field in the latter town. The opening ceremony in Teguise was attended by prominent authorities, including the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Food Sovereignty of the Government of the Canary Islands, Alejandro Narvay Quintero; the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort; the mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque; and the president of the Federation of Agricultural and Fishing Associations of Lanzarote (FASAT), Omar Viña.
A significant part of the program in Teguise is dedicated to schoolchildren, with a morning of activities designed for students from various educational centers to enjoy the event. To facilitate attendance, ample parking has been provided, and directional signs have been placed, although parking restrictions in the plot opposite the Agrotechnological Center remain, as in the previous year.
Visitor numbers are expected to match or exceed the mark set in 2025, when over 40,000 attendees were recorded. During the opening, several awards were presented to professionals in the primary sector of Lanzarote.
Specifically, Alexandra González Viera was recognized as a young livestock farmer; Jorge Facundo Reyes as a senior livestock farmer; Karliana Aguilera as a young farmer; Magdalena Ramos de León as a senior farmer; Álvaro Hernández Espinosa as a young fisherman; and Gregorio Agustín Páez Guadalupe as a senior fisherman. Additionally, the career and contribution to the primary sector of Lanzarote by Teno Osorio was honored.
