The Arista Promo Trail Series circuit, driven by Arista Eventos and Universidad Fernando Pessoa Canarias, aims to foster trail running among children and adolescents with four scoring races.

Arista Eventos and the Universidad Fernando Pessoa Canarias (UFPC) have launched the Arista Promo Trail Series by Universidad Fernando Pessoa Canarias, a new mountain race circuit designed to promote trail running among young people. The competition, debuting with four events, will feature separate male and female classifications for the under-15, under-18, and junior categories.
This inaugural edition has already incorporated the results from two previous races: LPA Trail and Entre Cortijos, both with significant youth participation. The calendar will be completed with two more events: Artenara Trail, scheduled for Saturday, June 20, and the Ruta de Los Molinos, taking place on October 10 in Vega de San Mateo.
Fernando González, CEO of Arista Eventos, highlighted the initiative's importance for grassroots sports: "With the Arista Promo Trail Series [...] we are taking a firm step in our commitment to grassroots sports. We want to encourage young people to start trail running, learn its values, and grow as athletes." He added that he is confident the circuit will be "the starting point for many young people who, in a few years, we will see competing in international benchmark events."
Sara Muñoz, Head of Institutional Relations, Protocol, and Events at UFPC, emphasized the university's commitment to supporting initiatives with a positive community impact. "We are convinced that promoting grassroots sports is investing in the future and helping to build a healthier, more active society committed to values that transcend competition," she stated. She also noted that sport serves as a tool for "social cohesion, inclusion, and personal development."
Muñoz concluded by assuring that UFPC "will continue to support projects that promote healthy lifestyles, well-being, and values-based education, creating opportunities for children and young people to develop their full potential."
The scoring system awards 10 points to the first finisher in each race, decreasing progressively to 1 point for eighth place and beyond. The overall standings will be based on the two best results from the four races. In case of a tie, the number of victories will be prioritized, followed by the best result in the final race. Category winners will receive a voucher for sports equipment.
Following the first two events, Iris Santana leads the junior women's category. In junior men's, Hugo del Cristo Cabrera and Alejandro Quintana share the top spot. In the cadet category, Daphne Monagas Caballero and Kayla Carolei Hellstrom lead the women's standings, while Rodrigo Sánchez Bravo leads the men's. In the under-15 category, Maia Carolei Hellstrom and Jorge Martínez Carballo are the current leaders.
