The environmental group Turcón has filed a complaint with the Prosecutor's Office and the Demarcación de Costas regarding works carried out with heavy machinery on the beach and ravine of Veneguera, requesting the suspension of the works.

The environmental organization Turcón has filed a complaint with the Prosecutor's Office and the Demarcación de Costas, alerting about the use of heavy machinery and earth movements carried out on the beach and ravine of Veneguera. The entity requests the intervention of these bodies regarding the actions that, they claim, have occurred within the limits of the servitude and protection of the public maritime-terrestrial domain.
Turcón considers that the company owning the land, identified as Lopesan, has exceeded its authority in correcting the beach and ravine profiles. The group describes these actions as "improvised, without the corresponding enabling permits and the result of overconfidence, excessive and disproportionate diligence in the face of the effects of a storm" in a natural, little-altered area.
According to testimonies and graphic material collected by citizens, heavy machinery allegedly removed the natural slope characteristic of the beaches in the west of Gran Canaria, moving large quantities of pebbles and gravel from the beach to an old parking area, where the material was accumulated.
In light of this situation, Turcón questions the exact nature of Lopesan's alleged "renaturalization" project in Veneguera, asking what actions it includes, under what technical, environmental, and administrative criteria these movements of gravel and pebbles are being carried out within a protected area belonging to the Parque Rural del Nublo.
Environmentalists demand to know which administrations have authorized these actions, whether there are public environmental reports supporting them, and what the true objectives of the intervention are. They express their fear that these actions could lead to a progressive limitation of free and public access to one of the last semi-virgin spaces on the island.
The group states its "profound concern" that these actions might be part of a "gradual strategy of territorial control and limitation of citizen access" to a natural space of emotional, cultural, and social value for the Canary people.
As a precautionary measure, Turcón requests the sealing of the ongoing works and requires those responsible to refrain from continuing, under penalty of incurring a crime of disobedience to authority.
