The Cabildo of Gran Canaria will integrate proposals from the Citizen Participation Commission of World Heritage into the new Comprehensive Management Plan for the Cultural Landscape of Risco Caído and the Sacred Mountains.

This initiative aims to strengthen participatory processes and public governance by incorporating contributions from various working groups. The decision was announced during the meeting of the Table of Mayors of World Heritage, where the extension and review of the current plan were discussed.
The current planning foresees that by 2027, the new fundamental document guiding interventions in the coming years will be defined. This process will feature significant contributions from citizens, businesses, and entities from the island's summit.

"The Citizen Commission constitutes a consultative, representative, and participatory body for the study, reporting, and proposal of initiatives carried out by the Institute within its competencies, as well as the promotion of all actions that, according to its nature, contribute to the development and protection of World Heritage."

The sectors represented in the Citizen Commission include areas such as the environment, culture, rural and active tourism, education, crafts, ethnography, heritage, and neighborhood movements.
Additionally, the president of the Cabildo chaired the ordinary session of the Governing Council of the Biosphere Reserve. This meeting included representatives from various areas of the Cabildo, the Ministry of Ecological Transition of the Government of Canarias, and the municipalities of Agaete, Artenara, Mogán, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, La Aldea de San Nicolás, Tejeda, and San Mateo.
