The works, which began last November and were carried out by the Betancuria City Council, have completely renewed the facilities. Improvements included sanitation of ceilings and walls, roof waterproofing, structural reinforcement of pillars, and a full interior and exterior paint job.
The clinic, which serves 95 patients, offers Family and Community Medicine and Nursing consultations. During the construction period, medical services were temporarily relocated to the Betancuria and Valle de Santa Inés clinics to ensure continuous healthcare for the local population.
The Department of Health also provided updates on other infrastructure projects in Fuerteventura. These include the expansion of the Gran Tarajal Health Center, which will feature new Mental Health and Physiotherapy departments, and the construction of the new Corralejo II Dunas health center.
Additionally, the expansion project for the Costa Calma local clinic in Pájara is under review, alongside the implementation of an emergency care point at the Antigua Health Center. Tenders for improvements at the El Matorral clinic and the Morro Jable health center are expected shortly.
