Alajeró Prepares for Arguayoda Festivities with Religious Events and Dances

The neighborhood of Arguayoda in Alajeró will celebrate its festivities on April 24th and 25th with music, mass, and a procession.

The Arguayoda neighborhood, located in the municipality of Alajeró, is gearing up for its traditional festivities on April 24th and 25th, offering a diverse program that includes religious ceremonies and lively evening dances.

The Festival Committee has organized a weekend full of activities, starting on Friday, April 24th, with a dance from 10:00 PM, enlivened by a well-known local musician.
On Saturday, April 25th, the festive day will begin at 12:00 PM with a solemn mass in honor of San Sebastián, Santa Beatriz, and the Virgen del Valle. Following the religious ceremony, the traditional procession will take place, accompanied by the sound of drums and chácaras, passing through the usual locations of the hamlet.
After the religious events conclude, a large lunch will be offered to all attendees. The celebration will continue in the afternoon, at 4:00 PM, with a dance animated by a musical group. Subsequently, another group and the musician from Friday will take over to keep the dance party going

The organization has extended an invitation to residents of Arguayoda and Alajeró, as well as visitors, to participate in these festivities held in one of the most picturesque hamlets in southern La Gomera. The Festival Committee has expressed gratitude for the collaboration of the Alajeró Town Council, the Cabildo Insular de La Gomera, and the AFC Jalima – Tambores y Chácaras de Vallehermoso.
