The Cabildo de La Gomera has announced a new edition of the Consumer Voucher with a 2 million euro investment, highlighting increased incentives for the municipality of Alajeró.

This initiative's main goal is to strengthen commercial activity in Alajeró and address the connectivity challenges faced by the area. The bonus for this municipality will now be 60-40, with the island institution contributing 60% of the voucher's value and the consumer the remaining 40%.

"The objective is to encourage citizens from other parts of the island to shop in Playa de Santiago and the entire municipality of Alajeró, strengthening its commerce and boosting its economy."

With this change, Alajeró is now on par with the northern municipalities of the island, which already benefited from these more favorable conditions, whereas southern localities previously operated with a 50-50 split. The measure seeks to attract consumption to this area, directly benefiting local businesses.
The strategy maintains its island-wide focus, promoting spending within La Gomera so that economic resources remain within the island's productive and social fabric. The island institution has emphasized its investment effort, noting that, unlike other administrations, it allocates 2 million euros exclusively to the island, underscoring the direct impact of this economic stimulus policy.
Previous editions of the Consumer Voucher have proven effective, injecting approximately 3 million euros into the island's commerce during the last campaign. In total, previous calls have mobilized over 8 million euros, solidifying this tool as a fundamental pillar of cooperation with the sector and support for families.
