The Council of La Gomera maintains the active training program ‘Artesanía Viva’, designed to strengthen the professional capabilities of the island's artisanal sector and facilitate its adaptation to new promotion and commercialization challenges.

The initiative seeks to equip artisans with updated tools for modernizing their workshops and products, without neglecting the cultural and identity value of traditional Gomera crafts. The program will be carried out itinerantly across different municipalities on the island until next November.
‘Artesanía Viva’ is aimed at individuals holding an artisan card issued by the Council of La Gomera. The training itinerary will combine in-person sessions, practical activities, digital content, and follow-up through a virtual campus. Key subjects will be covered, including digital skills, design and creativity applied to crafts, marketing and sales, artisanal management and entrepreneurship, traditional Canarian techniques, and generational succession.
The first training session will take place in San Sebastián de La Gomera on May 27th and 28th, focusing on Digital Skills. Subsequently, training will continue in Hermigua and Agulo (June 17th and 18th) with Design and Creativity; in Valle Gran Rey (July 22nd and 23rd) with Marketing and Sales; in San Sebastián (September 16th and 17th) with Management and Entrepreneurship; in Vallehermoso (October 21st and 22nd) with Canarian Craft Techniques; and will conclude in Alajeró (November 25th and 26th) with Generational Succession and Pedagogical Training.
Registrations can be made at the Academia Axón, in person or by calling 922 87 18 56, between 08:00 and 20:00 hours.
