The San Sebastián de La Gomera City Council has opened the application period for subsidies aimed at promoting sports, with a total allocation of 100,000 euros, marking an increase of 30,000 euros compared to the previous year.

These grants are primarily intended for sports clubs, entities, and associations within the municipality of San Sebastián de La Gomera. Applicants must be legally constituted, possess their own legal personality, operate as non-profit organizations, and be registered in the General Register of the Directorate General of Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands.
Exceptionally, sports clubs, entities, or associations from the municipality of Alajeró may also apply for these grants if they include members registered in San Sebastián de La Gomera. This provision aims to support those who participate in activities and utilize sports facilities in San Sebastián de La Gomera due to geographical proximity.
Furthermore, individual athletes of professional or elite status, recognized for their sports curriculum, who are registered in San Sebastián de La Gomera, hold a valid federative license, and contribute significantly to the municipality's sports profile, are also eligible beneficiaries.
