The municipality of San Sebastián de La Gomera has reached the final stretch of its October Festivities 2026. Following the main day's celebration in honor of the Virgen de Guadalupe, which gathered dozens of faithful at the hermitage of Puntallana, the program continues with various activities.
Mayor Angélica Padilla highlighted the high participation in the procession, exceeding previous years, and thanked the transportation service provided by the City Council to facilitate access to Puntallana, especially for individuals with reduced mobility, through a bus service and specific transport for the winding road.
As part of the festive agenda, the Asociación Joven Tagoror, in collaboration with Tere Martín, is organizing a visit to the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción on Wednesday, October 7th, at 5:30 PM. The aim is to showcase the artistic and ecclesiastical heritage of the main church of La Gomera.
The festivities will conclude on Friday, October 9th, with a free concert by Vocal Sampling at the Auditorio de La Gomera at 8:00 PM. The Cuban group, founded in 1989, is known for its ability to create orchestral music with just six voices.
On Thursday, October 8th, the third edition of “Raíces Creativas” will be held, an emblematic event organized by the Social Policies Area to highlight the work of the municipality's senior citizens in their workshops. Councilor Ana Campoy explained that works from painting, guitar, stretching, physical maintenance, dance, aquagym, and crafts will be showcased.
This event is part of the municipal program dedicated to older adults during October, coinciding with the International Day of Older Persons. Following “Raíces Creativas,” the Autumn Gathering will take place on Saturday, October 17th.
