The Valle Gran Rey City Council, through its Senior Citizens' Department, is organizing the VI Senior Citizens' “In Motion” Gathering on Saturday, April 25th. This event is dedicated to promoting active participation, coexistence, and the well-being of the municipality's elderly population.
This gathering will take place in Santa Ana Square, located in Imada (Alajeró), and will feature a varied program including workshops, activities, a communal lunch, and live music. The entire event is designed to create an enjoyable and interactive environment for all attendees.
As in previous editions, this initiative seeks to provide a meeting point for senior citizens, encouraging active lifestyles, healthy leisure, and the strengthening of social bonds among residents from different parts of the municipality.
“
"This gathering has become a highly anticipated event for our seniors, a special day where they can enjoy themselves and feel like protagonists."
The Councillor for Senior Citizens, Lorena Damas, emphasized the importance of these activities, noting that the City Council remains committed to creating spaces for coexistence that foster the emotional and social well-being of seniors, recognizing their fundamental role in the community.
“
"The goal is for it to be a day to disconnect from routine, reconnect, and enjoy activities tailored to their interests, in a close and welcoming environment."
To facilitate participation, transportation will be available, departing from La Playa and Taguluche at 09:00 AM. Those interested in attending can register at the Gran Rey Pensioners' Association or by calling 922 47 67 61.
