The company Ayagaures Medioambiente has achieved significant growth by tripling the production of its organic fertilizer Compost G+ in one year, establishing its Agüimes plant as a benchmark in the circular economy.

Ayagaures Medioambiente has reported a remarkable increase in its activity, tripling the production of Compost G+. During 2025, the Agüimes plant distributed 571,360 kilograms of this fertilizer, a figure significantly higher than the 193,580 kilograms recorded in 2024.
These results were presented at the Global Sustainable Islands Summit 2026, an international event organized by Island Innovation held from April 20 to 22 at Expomeloneras. This gathering brings together institutional leaders, companies, and sustainability experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities for island territories.
The production increase is also reflected in monthly peaks, with 82,850 kilograms reached in December 2025, compared to 22,020 kilograms in the same month of the previous year. This progress solidifies the Agüimes composting plant as a leader in the transition towards circular economy models in the Canary Islands and as an efficient and real alternative to chemical fertilizers in the agricultural sector.
This production leap has been made possible by combining traditional processes with the implementation of an innovative trench system, launched in 2024 with support from Next Generation European funds. This technology has reduced pre-maturation production times from 12 to 6 weeks, optimizing resources and significantly increasing the facility's operational capacity.

"These results are a clear example of how the circular economy works in practice: we transform waste into a high-value resource for the agricultural sector."

Looking ahead, Ayagaures Medioambiente has set a goal to distribute one million kilograms of Compost G+ in 2026, an objective that responds to both increased demand and its firm commitment to sustainability and the valorization of organic waste.
Compost G+, an organic fertilizer rich in microbiology, nutrients, and humic compounds, continues to gain prominence among farmers and professionals in the sector. Its ability to improve soil structure and fertility, as well as to promote more environmentally friendly agricultural practices, has driven its use in both agricultural operations and gardening.
