The operation, closed for 700,000 euros from Sareb, will allow the local government to accelerate the development of the third phase of the Agüimes Housing Plan. This municipal project aims to create over 1,700 rent-controlled homes, with prices significantly lower than current market values.
With this acquisition, the local government now controls 90% of the sector, facilitating the urban management of the land. The initiative is part of a long-term strategy to ensure access to decent housing through public-private collaboration, where municipal land is provided for private developers to build and manage the properties.

The council plans to soon begin the bidding process for the first two phases of the plan, which will be located in Agüimes casco, Arinaga, and Cruce de Arinaga. Additionally, during the first week of October, informative meetings will be held in these population centers to address citizens' questions regarding the project's development.
