The Popular University of Agüimes opens registration on Monday, September 14th, for its new 2026-2027 program, featuring over 80 courses and more than 1,700 available places.

The program covers a wide range of activities including physical activity, dance, languages, plastic arts, crafts, digital training, music, and culture. A key novelty is the integration of courses previously organized by the Seniors area, such as Pilates and Hipopresives, into the general schedule.
New workshops are introduced, notably ‘Learn to Knit Canarian Leggings’, ‘Introduction to Ceramics’, and a free ‘Canarian Folk Dance’ course. The offering responds to high demand for activities like ‘Tai Chi’ and ‘Qigong’, with expanded groups and schedules in Arinaga.
‘Drawing and Painting’ courses return to the cultural centers of Agüimes and Arinaga, with options for both children and adults. Various styles of salsa, bachata, Latin dances, flamenco, and other dance disciplines are also offered, alongside creative workshops like ‘Engravings as Artistic Expression’ and ‘Creative Sewing’.

"The enrollment period for residents registered in Agüimes will begin on Monday, September 14th, starting at 3:00 PM and will remain open until the 18th of the same month, while non-residents can register from September 21st to 25th."
