Woman Seriously Injured After Car Overturns in Santa Lucía

The 39-year-old driver was trapped and had to be rescued by firefighters before being taken to the hospital.

A 39-year-old woman has been seriously injured this Sunday after the vehicle she was traveling in overturned on Avenida del Atlántico, in Santa Lucía, Gran Canaria.

The incident occurred in the Gran Canaria municipality of Santa Lucía, where the victim's car ended up overturned, leaving the driver trapped inside.
Rescuers from the Consortium of Emergencies of Gran Canaria were responsible for carrying out the woman's rescue.
Once freed, personnel from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) attended to her and managed to stabilize her. Subsequently, she was transferred by a sanitary ambulance to the Hospital Universitario de Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín.
The 112 Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) of the Government of the Canary Islands received the accident report at 2:36 PM. Local Police also attended the scene to prepare the corresponding report.
