Four hooded individuals stormed the establishment, located on Avenida de Canarias, while a fifth accomplice waited in a vehicle to facilitate their escape. The assault occurred around 8:20 PM.
The criminals used tools, including a hammer, to try to break the display case glass. Official investigation sources confirmed that no firearms or bladed weapons were used during the incident.
A rapid reaction from inside the premises and the store's security systems deterred the assailants. The shouts of a female customer alerted the owner, who confronted the criminals, causing them to flee hastily.
One of the robbers lost their hood during the escape, which could aid the investigation in identifying them.
Officers from the Local Police of Santa Lucía de Tirajana and the Civil Guard quickly responded to the scene after receiving the alert. Agents gathered information and analyzed the damage and potential clues left at the establishment.
The attempted robbery left visible damage, including numerous broken glass fragments outside and the access gate partially lowered. This incident adds to a series of recent robberies at jewelry stores in the southeast and Telde.
