The Canary Islands Electric Vehicle Show, Movelec, is preparing for its ninth edition at the Agüimes exhibition center on April 18 and 19, showcasing the latest innovations in sustainable mobility.

This event, which has established itself as a benchmark in the sector, will bring together companies, professionals, and the public interested in the electrification of transport. This year's edition stands out for its new location in Agüimes, maintaining its objective of being a key meeting point for the industry and consumers.

"Gran Canaria today leads electric mobility in the Canary Islands; 57% of electric vehicle sales in the archipelago occur on our island, and that, of course, is no coincidence."

Raúl García Brink · Councillor for Environment, Climate, Energy and Knowledge
Councillor Raúl García Brink emphasized Gran Canaria's leadership in regional electric mobility, highlighting the “clear commitment of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria to the energy transition.” This initiative includes the deployment of an island-wide network of charging points and a strong push for transport electrification.

"Movelec stands as the ideal space to convey to society the latest electric mobility developments, environmental and energy-saving benefits, as well as acquisition aid."

Minerva Alonso · Councillor for Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Crafts
For her part, Councillor Minerva Alonso stressed the importance of Movelec as a platform to disseminate sector news, the environmental and economic advantages of electric mobility, and available aid for vehicle acquisition. The event also aims to promote the vision of a “CO2-free eco-island.”
Among the novelties of this edition, efficient driving courses will be offered with specialized instructors, including informative talks and practical sessions. Attendees will also have access to six driving simulators and learn about the offerings from 100% electric vehicle companies, distributors, workshops, and specialized services in renewable energies and charging solutions. The conference program will address topics such as the evolution of charging in Spain, energy communities, and the electrification of taxis.
