The final day of the Rally Islas Canarias 2026 has commenced in Ingenio, presenting drivers with challenges due to wet asphalt and intense competition for the lead.

The decisive stage of the Rally Islas Canarias 2026, part of the world championship calendar, started in Ingenio at 7:15 AM and is expected to conclude with the second pass through the Santa Lucía - Agüimes section around 1:15 PM.

"It was a really complicated stage. In the morning we had mixed conditions, with some dry and some wet sections, but that allowed us to gain incredible learning. In the afternoon everything was dry and we were able to apply a good pace. In 'Maspalomas' we lacked a bit of confidence, but in the other two sections of the day we took a step forward. We are learning a lot."

Weather conditions have added a layer of difficulty, with overnight rain in Telde leaving the asphalt damp at the start of the day. This situation demands maximum concentration and skill from the participants.
The provisional leader, a French driver, faces this final stage with a 3.8-second advantage over his Swedish competitor. The leader's plan is to "push hard" to maintain his position, highlighting the good feeling with his vehicle despite the pressure from his rival.
Today's key sections include TC 15 / TC 17 Ingenio – Telde – Valsequillo, a new addition combining the legendary "Ingenio" with the Valsequillo section, and TC 16 / TC 18 Santa Lucía – Agüimes, an iconic special known for its speed and narrow curves in the Las Vallas area.
