The initiative, called Plan de Empleo Santa Lucía Avanza, is fully funded with 175,000 euros by the Department of Employment and Local Development of the Cabildo. The main goal is to facilitate the labor insertion of people aged between 45 and 66 who are in vulnerable situations.
The hired staff, consisting of one supervisor and 15 operators, will be dedicated to cleaning and maintenance tasks in various public areas of the municipality. These actions aim to improve health, public well-being, and the conservation of the urban environment during the project's execution period, which runs from January to December 2026.
In addition to improving public spaces, the program aims to provide participants with professional experience and training to facilitate their future return to the labor market. The collaboration between both institutions allows for the hiring process to be tailored to the specific maintenance needs of Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
