The Department of Social Care of the Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council has presented an innovative project for the 2030 Agenda, seeking to enhance municipal public policies through an intelligent social diagnosis system.

The project, titled “Santa Lucía Inclusiva: Intelligent Evidence-Based Social Diagnosis System for SDG Localization and Improvement of Municipal Public Policies,” aims to transform data from Social Services into strategic information. The goal is to optimize the planning, evaluation, and effectiveness of public policies, identifying social needs and vulnerability situations for better resource allocation.
This initiative aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 1 (No poverty), SDG 2 (Zero hunger), SDG 3 (Good health and well-being), SDG 5 (Gender equality), SDG 10 (Reduced inequalities), SDG 16 (Peace, justice and strong institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the goals). It will enable the measurement of the real impact of municipal actions and strengthen evidence-based decision-making.
The plan includes creating collaborative spaces with various social, educational, health, and knowledge-based agents. This will enhance community participation and shared governance to address the municipality's social challenges more effectively.
Saúl Antonio Goyes López, councilor for Social Care and Community, Childhood and Family, highlighted that the project represents an opportunity to modernize Social Services, making them more effective and preventive. “Having objective information will allow us to anticipate the population's needs, design better responses, and ensure public resources reach those who need them most efficiently,” he stated.
Goyes López added that the tool will facilitate information analysis and reduce administrative tasks for municipal staff, enabling professionals to dedicate more time to direct support and intervention with the municipality's individuals and families.
Through this initiative, the Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council reaffirms its commitment to public innovation and the continuous improvement of municipal services, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals.
