The National Police has successfully recovered specialized kart material valued at 10,500 euros and arrested two men in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, who allegedly stole the parts from a workshop in September 2024.

The two detainees, aged 42 and 45, both with police records, are identified as the perpetrators of a robbery with force at a kart mechanic workshop in the capital of Gran Canaria. The theft occurred while the owner of the establishment was off the island, participating in a motorsport event.
The individuals involved demonstrated considerable knowledge of the sector, selecting and dismantling very specific parts, some already installed in the vehicles, using specialized tools for their removal. The total value of the stolen material amounted to 12,875 euros.
The investigation took a new turn in March 2026, when the workshop owner discovered that some of the stolen items were being offered for sale through a social network. This allowed agents from the Judicial Police Group to begin efforts to locate the seller.
The inquiries led to a meeting in the town of Vecindario, where the suspect was identified. Subsequently, he led investigators to a property where most of the stolen goods were stored. During the operation, parts valued at approximately 10,500 euros were recovered, and the two alleged perpetrators were arrested. The National Police considers the case solved, although the investigation remains open to determine if more people are involved.
