The comprehensive rehabilitation of the Santa Águeda urbanization in El Pajar, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, is entering its final phase with 80% of the work already completed, enhancing the safety and quality of life for over 250 residents.

The Santa Águeda urbanization, located in El Pajar, is nearing the completion of its ambitious comprehensive rehabilitation project. According to the local government of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, 80% of the works have already been finished, marking a significant milestone in the transformation of this residential area.
The work carried out to date includes major interventions such as the installation of new elevators, the complete rehabilitation of structural pillars and elements, the sanitation of floor slabs, and the comprehensive renovation of plumbing and water supply networks. Storage tanks have also been replaced, and facades have been repaired and renewed. Additionally, entrances and common areas have been improved to ensure accessibility.
During a site visit, the first deputy mayor, Alejandro Marichal, highlighted the importance of these interventions for the safety and quality of life of the residents, stating, "We have completed the structural rehabilitation of the buildings, installed the elevators, and renewed the basic facilities, which are the most impactful actions for the families living here."
The Councilor for Housing, Lucía Jiménez, added that the rehabilitation not only enhances the appearance of the buildings but also ensures "more accessible, safe, and adapted housing for the current needs of the residents."
A critical and technically delicate phase has been the complete renovation of the electrical supply, detected during the execution of the works. "We are in a less visible phase for the residents, but absolutely fundamental to guarantee the safety and durability of the project," explained Marichal, referring to the new electrical ducting being installed through trenches approximately one meter deep.
Once this electrical intervention is concluded, the work will focus on urbanization finishing touches, paving, painting, and final details, thereby completing the transformation of the Santa Águeda urbanization.
Councilor Jiménez recalled that of the total budget of 1.2 million euros, more than one million has already been spent, demonstrating the "degree of project compliance and the commitment of the Housing Department to improving public housing and the quality of life for the residents of El Pajar."
