A 50-year-old woman is in critical condition after suffering cardiac arrest while swimming at Maspalomas beach, Gran Canaria, this Wednesday.

A 50-year-old woman has been transferred in critical condition to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria after experiencing drowning symptoms and cardiac arrest at Maspalomas beach, Gran Canaria, this Wednesday around 3:45 PM.
Lifeguards from the Red Cross present on the beach initiated basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers until the arrival of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) personnel. They continued with advanced techniques, managing to reverse the situation and stabilize the patient before her aerial evacuation.
Firefighters from San Bartolomé de Tirajana, National Police, Local Police, and Civil Protection also responded to the scene.
