The Local Police of San Bartolomé de Tirajana arrested a man early Saturday morning during a traffic control point set up for the San Fernando festivities.

Officers intercepted the driver at the intersection of Avenida de Tejeda and Calle Lanzarote after noticing suspicious behavior. Given the individual's history regarding drug transportation, officers conducted a thorough search of the vehicle.
During the initial search, several bundles of cash were found hidden in compartments including the glove box, ashtray, and sun visor, totaling a significant amount of money. A bag containing a white substance was also discovered in the ashtray.
Due to the detainee's insistence that the vehicle be removed from the scene, the Local Police canine unit was deployed. The dog alerted officers to a side drawer, where a cloth was found concealing another bag of white substance and additional cash.
After being taken to the police station and undergoing testing, it was confirmed that the seized substance was cocaine, weighing a total of 4.8 grams. The suspect remains in custody.
