Bathers and residents of Castillo del Romeral, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, were surprised to find a dolphin calf in the area's natural pools on Wednesday morning. The unusual visitor quickly attracted the attention of many onlookers.
The animal was promptly rescued by operators and technicians from the Cabildo's Wildlife Recovery Center. Following the rescue operations, the calf was transported to the facilities of the Canary Institute of Marine Sciences, located in Taliarte, Telde, to receive necessary care.
