The town of El Tablero, in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, has inaugurated a new 6,000-square-meter urban space, the T-8 plaza, designed to host fairs and various public events.

This entirely open-plan venue was unveiled in a festive atmosphere last Saturday, April 25, 2026. The event was attended by local and Cabildo authorities, who highlighted the importance of this new meeting point for the community.
During the inaugural day, which ran from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, numerous residents of El Tablero enjoyed a varied program. Children's activities, a gastronomic area, and an agricultural and artisan market were organized, complemented by musical performances from Parranda A Kal y Canto, Dj. Marre, and the Latin music group Nueva Línea.
The investment for the construction of this fairground plaza, adjacent to Francisco Vega Monroy avenue, amounted to 547,451 euros, financed through the Cabildo's Cooperation Plan. The project, promoted by the Parks and Gardens department, has transformed a deteriorating public plot into a harmonious and functional space for the community.
The works included the remodeling and leveling of the esplanade, the installation of new paving, the modernization of public lighting, the recovery of landscaped areas with updated irrigation systems, the implementation of a rainwater drainage network, the placement of new curbs and bollards, and the beautification of the recycling area.
