On Sunday morning, officers from the Local Police of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and the National Police intervened at a venue in Playa del Inglés following reports of minors and alcohol consumption. The establishment, located opposite the Centro Comercial Anexo II, was the site of the operation which took place between 2:37 AM and 4:00 AM.
During the operation, the National Police identified 35 underage individuals. Corresponding reports were filed, and the minors were handed over to their parents or legal guardians.
The Local Police, in turn, noted significant safety deficiencies. Notably, emergency exits were found to be blocked, a situation that, according to municipal sources, posed a considerable risk to the safety of attendees and staff.
The party promoters, a company that had leased the space, failed to present the activity license or documentation accrediting the workers present at the time of inspection. The Local Police will initiate a penalty procedure, although the responsible parties have a period to provide the relevant documentation if they possess it.
Furthermore, the absence of an occupancy control system was evident. Police reports indicate that the venue, situated in the intermediate area of the Hard Rock Café, was crowded with an estimated thousand people, describing the situation as "overcrowded." The assessment of potential overcrowding and resulting liabilities will be determined by municipal technical services.
This intervention adds to other investigations and potential sanctions opened following the event, covering aspects from the presence of minors and alcohol consumption to issues related to the venue's operation, safety, capacity, and urban planning regulations.
