Despite the high temperatures, public attendance was remarkable, demonstrating the deep roots of this event where grilled fish, whether mackerel or horse mackerel, is the undisputed star.
The day, which offered a complete dish with fish, gofio, Canarian mojo, and bread, served as an ideal pretext to foster coexistence among residents of one of the neighborhoods with the strongest identity within the municipality. This event highlights the cultural richness of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, extending beyond its tourist offerings.
The barbecue also marked the closing of El Pajar's intense festivities in honor of Santa Águeda, culminating in a lively open-air dance that brought several days of celebrations to a close.
