The Lopesan group has applied for a license from the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council to construct a new five-star hotel in the Meloneras area, Gran Canaria, with an estimated investment of 41.6 million euros.

The project includes a five-star establishment with 250 rooms, 500 beds, and Balinese aesthetics, to be located on the seafront, between the coastal promenade and Mar Caspio street. The hotel is expected to create around 150 jobs.
Of the 250 rooms, 216 will be standard, 26 suites, 8 adapted for people with reduced mobility, and one 'Imperial Suite' of 560 square meters with a large terrace. The hotel will feature five restaurants, including a Japanese cuisine option.
The new establishment will be built on plot 12 (B4-2) of the Meloneras 2A Partial Plan, covering an area of 36,632 square meters. The design proposed by Hijos de Francisco López Sánchez SA, the development company, envisages a structure with a maximum of two floors, with 26,250 square meters above ground and 25,788 below ground, plus 102 parking spaces.
The initial estimated investment amounts to 41.6 million euros. The building will be designed in a fragmented manner to adapt to the irregular topography of the land and avoid the appearance of large structures.
The main access will be via Mar Caspio street, leading to a two-story building housing the reception, lobby, shops, two restaurants, and terraces. The rest of the construction will be terraced, integrating landscaped areas, swimming pools, and solariums, some on rooftops to minimize the visual impact.
The project details 21,007 square meters allocated to outdoor free spaces, including nearly 19,000 square meters for gardens, solariums, and terraces, as well as about twenty swimming pools of various sizes. The 'Imperial Suite' will have exclusive vehicle access and its own parking area.
This initiative adds to the expansion of the Villa del Conde and another planned hotel with 1,000 rooms, bringing the total investment in Meloneras to 358 million euros, following the unblocking of the Meloneras 2A sector.
