The initiative, organized by the WIP (Walk in the Park) Cultural and Sports Association, is supported by the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council and around thirty companies. The festival will take place from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, offering a comprehensive wellness space.
To date, over 1,000 participants have registered, representing 49 nationalities and 16 countries of residence. The organization estimates that the final number of attendees could exceed 1,500 people, with an average age of 44 and a significant female majority, accounting for 83% of those registered.
“"The organization relies on nearly fifty volunteers from different nationalities. The team includes people from countries in conflict, highlighting the collaborative volunteer work as part of the spirit of the gathering."
The event was presented by the festival management, who emphasized its non-commercial nature and social interest, supported by volunteer efforts. During the presentation, the mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Marco Aurelio Pérez Sánchez, congratulated the organizers and announced the upcoming tender for the expansion works of the Parque Urbano del Sur. The Councillor for Culture, Esther Delgado Sánchez, also reaffirmed municipal support.
The festival program includes traditional yoga practices, contemporary mindfulness, guided group meditations, conscious breathing exercises, and sessions aimed at nervous system relaxation. These activities will be led by monks and experts in the field. The festival's promoters, building on a decade of Sunday yoga sessions in the park with nearly 10,000 participants, are already planning a second edition for 2027, aiming to consolidate Maspalomas as a European benchmark in “conscious tourism.”
