The celebration, held every first Sunday of August in the historic center, commemorates the plea for help that the inhabitants made to the saint to protect them from a locust plague threatening their crops. In gratitude, they promised to honor him annually, a commitment that remains active more than a century and a half later.
The festive day began with a Eucharist presided over by parish priest Fernando García. Afterwards, a procession took place through the town's streets, accompanied by the Banda Pasión de La Aldea. Numerous residents and representatives of the municipal corporation participated in the solemn procession.
The festival concluded at the church's portico with attendees singing the traditional 'Canción de Los Pajaritos,' bringing a fitting end to a celebration that is part of Mogán's religious and cultural heritage, passed down through generations.
