The Mogán Municipal Library Network has designed a calendar full of events, including creative workshops, oral narration sessions, specific activities for babies, and literary presentations. Most of the program will take place at the Arguineguín Municipal Library and the Mogán Municipal Library, also extending to various educational centers in the municipality.
The literary week will begin on Monday, April 20, with the family workshop “Literary Challenges,” scheduled for 6:30 PM at the Arguineguín Municipal Library. This initiative aims to promote reading in a playful and participatory way, with dynamics designed for family enjoyment.
On Tuesday, April 21, the Arguineguín Municipal Library will host the presentation of Quién habla en mi cabeza (Who Speaks in My Head), by writer Mélani Garzón-Sousa, at 7:00 PM. This book, the second part of the fantasy duology La piel de estrellas (The Skin of Stars), addresses mental health from the author's perspective, who will share her creative process and engage with the audience.
On Thursday, April 23, coinciding with International Book Day, the morning will be dedicated to children with the workshop “The Game of Letters” and the creation of the Book Day 2026 Mural, starting at 10:00 AM at the Arguineguín Municipal Library. In the afternoon, the Mogán Municipal Library will offer the workshop “I'll Tell You One” at 6:00 PM, aiming to stimulate children's imagination and love for stories. The day will conclude in Arguineguín with the presentation of Los amantes de Mambrú (Mambrú's Lovers), the first novel by Canarian writer Fabiola Gil, inspired by real events, at 7:30 PM.
The program will conclude on Friday, April 24, with a new baby storytelling session by Cuentos Llenos de Luna at the Mogán Infant School at 10:15 AM. In the afternoon, the Arguineguín Municipal Library will host the oral narration session “A Little Bit of Stories,” led by narrator Néstor Bolaños, as part of the XIX edition of the Oral Narration Circuit Días de Cuentos (Story Days), promoted by the Department of Culture of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and the Island Library.
