The third edition of the 'Camera, Clapperboard, and Action' educational project, driven by the Education Department of the Mogán City Council and the audiovisual company Maspafoto, concluded with a gala at the Arguineguín Multipurpose Center. The initiative aims to raise awareness and prevent school bullying through cinema.
Students from various educational centers in the municipality, including CEIP Playa de Arguineguín, CEIP Artemi Semidán, CEIP Playa de Mogán, CEO Motor Grande, and CEO Mogán, walked the red carpet. They were welcomed by the mayor of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, representatives of the local government, family members, and teachers.
Over several months, students received training from social worker Elena Hernández, delving into the concept of bullying, its causes, consequences, and prevention tools. They subsequently developed scripts, filmed, and starred in the shorts with the Maspafoto team, directed by Antonio Hernanz, the project's creator.
“"This event is the culmination of the work that the 6th-grade students have been doing for months. We thank Antonio and his team once again for their work, as well as the involvement of Elena and the entire educational community. It is fundamental for us to continue working on the prevention of school bullying."
The Councilor for Education, Emily Quintana, emphasized the project's core message, encouraging children to be brave when facing bullying situations. She highlighted that this support is crucial for students transitioning to 1st year of ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education).
After the screening of the short films, Onalia Bueno, Emily Quintana, Elena Hernández, and Antonio Hernanz, joined by Juan Carlos Valerón, presented diplomas and awards in true Hollywood style to the participating students, recognizing their effort and commitment.
The short films, which will be published on the official Mogán City Council social media profiles, are titled: 'We are not snitches', 'You are not alone. Or are you?', 'Yes or No. It's kid stuff', 'The dress has no gender', 'Invisible', 'Different', 'You are not alone', and 'The law of silence'.
