The Mogán City Council has decided to suspend the MTB-XCO Pino Seco Arguineguín sports event, scheduled for Saturday, May 9, because the organization failed to submit the mandatory documentation to guarantee the safety of the event and its participants.

The Council's decision is based on the absence of the Safety Plan and the responsible declaration, essential requirements that violate the Law on Classified Activities and Public Spectacles, as well as the Basic Self-Protection Standard. This measure affects approximately 100 minors registered in the morning school competitions.
The City Council has indicated that the MTB-XCO Pino Seco Arguineguín event has been part of the municipal sports calendar since 2022, so the organization should be aware of the necessary administrative and safety requirements. Despite this, the documentation was submitted on Tuesday, May 5, just four days before the event, and was still incomplete. Given this situation, there was no material time to comply with the legally required procedure, which forced the denial of authorization.

"The decision responds exclusively to safety criteria, with the aim of protecting all participants and the attending public."
