The Parque del Sur in San Bartolomé de Tirajana will be the venue for the 1st International Yoga & Mindfulness Festival this Sunday, April 26, a free event expected to bring together 1,500 participants.

This festival, organized by the cultural and sports association Walk in the Park (WIP), is presented as the first of its kind in the history of Gran Canaria and the pioneer in Europe with a public, international, and voluntary format. The masters leading the sessions will not receive fees for their participation.

"It is the first festival of these characteristics in the history of Gran Canaria and the first of this format in Europe in that it is public, international, and voluntary, where even the teachers will not charge for their fees."

the event management
The gathering will take place between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM in the park's amphitheater. Registration is mandatory and must be completed through the official event website. A few days before its celebration, over 1,000 people from 49 different nationalities have already registered, although the majority are residents of Gran Canaria.
The profile of registered participants shows that 83% are women, with an average age of 44 years, ranging from children as young as 6 to an individual of 82. More than 40 volunteers will collaborate to ensure the smooth running of the day.
The program will include the participation of two prominent masters: Ramanatha, a monk from the Siddha tradition, who will guide yoga, pranayama, and meditation practices; and Javier Villaescusa, a Canarian mindfulness expert, who will offer mindfulness sessions with a scientific approach.
