The new president of the PP of Gran Canaria, Carlos Sánchez, and the mayor of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, have confirmed that discussions are underway for a potential electoral alliance for the Gran Canaria Cabildo elections.

Negotiations between the Popular Party (PP) and the local party 'Juntos por Mogán', led by the current mayor of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, have been confirmed by both sides. The aim is to run together in the elections for the Cabildo of Gran Canaria.
Carlos Sánchez, president of the PP of Gran Canaria, was the first to publicly acknowledge the talks, praising Bueno's 'political appeal'. Subsequently, the mayor confirmed contact with the PP, also noting a lack of communication from Coalición Canaria (CC), with whom they previously had agreements.
According to consulted sources, the agreement is close to being finalized and would materialize through an alliance allowing Onalia Bueno to run for the Cabildo without abandoning her political brand, 'Juntos por Mogán'. This formula, similar to the one the PP has with AV in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, is being considered for extension to other locations if feasible.
