The Maspalomas Cup Government of the Canary Islands experienced a major surprise on its final day with the visit of Real Madrid defender Raúl Asencio. The footballer shared a moment with hundreds of young players and their families, describing the experience as "incredible".
Asencio expressed his special connection to the tournament, highlighting the excitement he feels being present among the youngest. "For me, the Maspalomas Cup has always been a very nice memory. For many years I have tried to come, I have tried to enjoy it here with the little ones," stated the Madrid player.
“"Ultimately, I know that for them it is a tremendous dream, and well, being able to be here with them, support them, and enjoy a different little while is incredible for me."
This edition of the event brought together 204 teams and 3,167 participants, establishing itself as one of the most ambitious. The closing day also saw the presence of Ramón Suárez Ojeda, Sports Councilor of the Illustrious City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
The Maspalomas Cup is supported by the Government of the Canary Islands, local public administrations, and a wide range of private sponsors, representing a significant boost to the economy of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
